Our Message at the DPO Community Event: More AI and Data, Less Overregulation

This week, together with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Lithuania, the State Data Protection Inspectorate of Lithuania, and representatives of the private sector, we took part in the LDAPA new season opening!

During the discussion “Seven years with the GDPR: lessons learned and what is needed for future-oriented regulation” we emphasized that Europe today must rely more on AI and data, not only on acts. The current approach too often creates fear-driven compliance, which limits clarity and hinders competitive growth. If we want to build an innovative and competitive future, we must move towards a data-driven, not act-driven approach.

Šią savaitę kartu su Lietuvos Respublikos teisingumo ministerija, Valstybinė duomenų apsaugos inspekcija bei privataus sektoriaus atstovais dalyvavome LDAPA naujojo veiklos sezono atidaryme!

Diskusijoje „Septyni metai su BDAR: išmoktos pamokos ir ko reikia ateities poreikius atliepiančiam reguliavimui“ akcentavome, kad Europa šiandien turi daugiau remtis dirbtiniu intelektu ir duomenimis, o ne vien teisės aktais. Dabartinis požiūris dažnai formuoja baime grįstą taisyklių laikymąsi, o tai riboja aiškumą ir stabdo konkurencinį augimą. Norėdami kurti inovatyvią ir konkurencingą ateitį, turime pereiti prie data-driven, o ne act-driven požiūrio.
